Disaster Preparedness Committee
The purpose of the Disaster Planning Committee is to assist York residents in learning the nine steps to take imediately following a disaster. This committee works with neighbors in identifying areas of concern and developing disaster response skills. In coordination with the City of Bellingham, this committee is working toward a neighborhood map of Yorkers' skills and available equipment during a disaster. In addition, Yorkers will be given the information on how to disconnect water and natural gas utilities from city lines.
The Disaster Planning Committee meets once per month. Meetings are pre-determined. For more information or how to become involved please email Carol or Libby, committee co-chairs, at PreparednessChair@yorkneighborhood.org
